Customer Support

The Product Support Group is part of Arkwin's international organization providing logistic support services for customers around the globe. They specialize in writing and publishing technical, repair, and overhaul manuals. In addition, they provide on-site training for customer maintenance and service personnel anywhere in the world.

All repairs, modifications, and overhaul services are performed in our FAA licensed facility. From trouble-shooting...to repair...to overhaul and upgrades...Arkwin technicians provide fast solutions and short turn-around times.

Spare parts for our commercial customers are available through an established distribution network with offices strategically located in Europe and the United States. Inventories of spare parts are stocked at these locations. Around-the-clock shipments are available to satisfy almost any urgent requirement.

Military customers are served directly by Arkwin. Depot level maintenance, spares provisioning, training, and technical publications are available that conform to Department of Defense requirements.

Arkwin's commitment to "service after the sale" guarantees a lifetime of support. Our highest priority is to provide complete customer satisfaction.

Development and Qualification Testing

CapabilitiesWe recognize the critical role that quality and reliability play in the aerospace industry. Arkwin products are subjected to intense scrutiny throughout its design, manufacturing process, and testing. All Arkwin products meet or exceed the standards set by NASA, the Department of Defense, and major engine and aircraft manufacturers.

Arkwin's Commitment to Excellence program (ACE) places responsibility for quality with every engineer, machine operator, and tester. ACE teams meet regularly to address and solve problems affecting all activities within our organization. All employees are indoctrinated into our ACE program and thoroughly trained by a team of dedicated professionals who have been schooled in total quality management concepts.

All Arkwin products are thoroughly tested in our laboratories that accurately simulate the environment the product will meet under actual use conditions. Arkwin's computer controlled facilities permit testing on an around-the-clock basis. On-site environmental test chambers allow us to verify critical performance characteristics at low and high temperature extremes. Vibration testing is performed to insure each product or component meets a set of specified performance criteria. No product is released for production until we are certain it will perform its mission.

Arkwin's Quality Assurance staff monitors the integrity of every process, retains all material certifications and other records required to verify the acceptability of out products. They are hosts to resident customer representatives and have the ultimate responsibility to attest to the quality of our products and related data that is shipped to our customers.

Engineering

EngineeringAerospace engineering is a complex and changing field. Arkwin continues to meet the ever-increasing demand for precision manufactured and trouble-free products. Arkwin's technical staff, working with customer engineers, recommends the best combination of design, materials, and processes to meet specified requirements. Engineering is constantly challenged to design cost-effective products of low weight and high reliability.

Concurrent engineering teams, comprised of design, manufacturing, test, and quality assurance engineers, plus numerical control programmers, program management staff, and contracts administrators work as a unit on new projects. This simultaneous engineering concept optimizes product design and focuses on customer and market needs.

Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) enables us to conduct accurate kinematic analyses, finite element models, three-dimensional modeling, clearance studies, and to provide accurate engineering drawings. CAD/CAM averts costly design flaws, and adds greater flexibility and control of the design process...from inception through product qualification.

  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) used for finite element analyses and three dimensional modeling
  • 11 CAD workstations (Solid Edge / Pro "E")
  • Highly experienced engineering staff with an average of 16 years of service at Arkwin
  • Concurrent engineering, manufacturin engineers review all designs for produceability
  • Highly responsive engineering team

Manufacturing

ManufacturingCareful evaluation of all facets of the production process and the dedicated involvement of Arkwin's skilled craftsmen strengthen the quality of Arkwin products. Over the last four decades, Arkwin has continued to add new manufacturing capability and capacity. Our equipment includes some of the most advanced, Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC), multiple-operation machine tools in the world.

CNC equipment is linked to our CAD/CAM network to permit interaction between design and manufacturing engineers and CNC programmers. This improves both the manufacturing efficiency and accuracy. The result is precision metal cutting techniques in the machining of aluminum, steel, and titanium components. Statistical Process Control (SPC) is employed throughout the manufacturing process.

  • Arkwin's manufacturing capabilities are second to none
  • Advanced CNC equipment that is linked to the Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) network to permit integration between design and manufacturing engineers and CNC programmers
  • 10 CAM workstations
  • Spool and Sleeve matching to 10 millionths accuracy
  • Continuous improvement and lean techniques used throughout

Subcontract Manufacturing

In addition to manufacturing its own proprietary products, Arkwin is also called upon to fabricate components designed by its customers. This is an attractive solution for companies seeking a cost-effective alternative to producing components in their own facilities. At Arkwin, we devote the same care to the production of a customer's design as we do to our own products.
