Position: Hydraulic Component Assembler A
Reports To: Senior Operations Manager
This position is responsible for assembling, fitting, and testing complex hydraulic and mechanical components and subassemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. This position requires a high level of mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with precision aerospace assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and fit precision hydraulic components, valves, actuators, and subassemblies per engineering drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
- Conduct detailed visual and dimensional inspections of parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, etc.) to verify assembly accuracy.
- Identify and troubleshoot assembly or test issues, reporting nonconformances per quality procedures.
- Work from detailed travelers, work orders, and assembly routers while maintaining accurate production records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure high-quality output.
- Follow all company safety and FAA/AS9100 quality requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade school preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hydraulic, aerospace, or precision mechanical assembly.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Experience with hydraulic test equipment and functional testing.
- Knowledge of aerospace assembly processes, fittings, seals, and torque specifications.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA or aerospace manufacturing background.
- Experience in an AS9100 or NADCAP environment.
- Familiarity with Visual ERP or other manufacturing systems.
