Position: Design Engineer

Reports To: Chief Engineer

Position Summary: Lead the design and development of new aircraft hydraulic products for various business unit applications. Provide technical support and direction for component development testing and qualification, and support production efforts and productivity goals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead new product design and development activities under the guidance of the Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, Vice President of Engineering and Quality, and other engineering staff.
  • Responsible for the production readiness and delivery of all drawings, documents, and related data associated with assigned projects
  • Responsible for analytical functions related to new product development including but not limited to tolerance studies, structural analysis (including finite element analysis), hydraulic analysis and dynamic analysis
  • Develop qualification test plans and procedures
  • Serves as primary technical customer interface for new products
  • Supports transition to production efforts
  • Provides technical support and direction for qualification test efforts
  • Provides technical support and direction for fielded product related issues

Job Qualification Requirements:

Training and Experience:

Mechanical Engineering degree required and 2-5 years of product design experience for hydraulic components or related field. Strong analytical background required.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

  • Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid
