Position Summary:

Under minimal supervision, troubleshoots and overhauls components either in-house or at customer’s facility.  Ability to disassemble, assemble, perform ATP testing, test stand set-up and debugging product lines.  Provides information for and may generate technical reports (oral and written) including validation of technical documents to components specifications. Interfaces with customers in-house and out on a professional level if situation arises.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Troubleshoots faulty components to find cause.
  • Performs all phases of receiving inspection, verification testing, teardown repair, overhaul, and “PTS” (Prepare to ship).
  • Instructs (trains) co-workers in all phases of inspection, testing and troubleshooting, as well as company procedures, FAA, and military specs.
  • Generates technical reports, failure analysis (written & oral) and interfaces with all customers (either in-house or at customer’s facilities) in a professional manner with minimal support.
  • Technical skills required include but are not limited to:
  1. working from Operation Sheets, Blueprints and Component Maintenance Manual (CMM). To include the validation of CMM’s against other technical documents.
  2. make electrical and hydraulic Test Setups from schematics or verbal instruction (requires tube bending and flaring)
  3. Can operate Hydraulic Test Stands or Mules
  4. Utilize measuring gages such as calipers and micrometers.
  5. Utilize electrical equipment such as multi-meter, oscilloscope, megometer and dielectric strength testers.

Job Qualification Requirements:

Training and Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Product Support “B” Technician or equivalent.  High School graduate or technical degree preferred.  Military hydraulic school graduate.

Physical Demands:  The employee is required to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, push pull, reach overhead and bend to the floor.
  • Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or
  • Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Visual Acuity:  Near acuity and accommodation as required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts. Annual eye exam required.

Hearing Ability:  Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

Working Conditions:  The employee is subject to:

  • High noise levels from operating equipment.
  • Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
  • Breathing fumes, dust, and mist.
  • Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid.
