Position: Manufacturing Engineer

Reports To:  Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Position Summary: Lead the machining and assembly methodization of new aircraft hydraulic products for various business unit applications. Provide technical support and direction to Operations as it relates to new business programs as well as legacy sustaining efforts and coordinate activity with Design and Quality Engineering counterparts.  Support productivity objectives as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Generate manufacturing assembly documentation and provide direct support of personnel in the day-to-day execution of the manufacturing, inspection and test operations.
  • Design and implement manufacturing tools and fixtures for production.
  • Analyze design engineering releases and the impact to operations including material in stock, work in process, and work outsourced to suppliers, and develop/execute action plans.
  • Improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost reduction, quality improvement and efficiency.
  • Provide support to resolve method-related issues by working with product designers, quality engineers, planners, supervisors and other operations staff as needed.
  • Develop machining strategies and assist in the creation of milling and turning programs for CNC machines.
  • Assist in the analysis and development of costing & manufacturing models for new business programs.

Job Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, Systems, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Proficiency in CAD software to design and draft manufacturing tools and fixtures
  • Experience with CAM software for generating CNC programs
  • Fundamental knowledge of lean manufacturing production principles and techniques
  • Experience in MS office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • ERP experience preferred
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government
