Position: Quality Assurance Manager
Reports To: VP of Quality and Engineering
Position Summary:
Responsible for total quality assurance operations, organization, program design, policy and procedure formulation, systems, budget and manpower forecasts, and facilities for the entire quality/reliability functions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for establishing and developing the quality/reliability program and the issuance of formal product and process specifications.
- Confers with management, customers, and other representatives in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, and directing the quality assurance program in conformance with customer requirements, engineering specifications and production schedules.
- Analyzes and interprets quality data and submits the results to designated personnel.
- Administers a continuing program of review and analysis to audit the quality of the reliability program results.
- Provides technical guidance and works in close liaison with Marketing and Engineering departments on all group projects.
- Maintains an effective material review and disposition program.
- Analyzes return defective equipment and reports his findings to individual departments concerned.
- May serve as liaison with customers on items of product quality or reliability.
- May also establish vendor reliability ratings, devise probability studies of failure, and counsel with design engineers in parts application.
- Responsible for quality cost reporting and making recommendations to reduce same.
- Responsible for total P.O. review to assure all customer requirements are imposed on our vendors for compliance of above.
Job Qualification Requirements
Training and Experience:
College degree, preferably mechanical engineering and minimum five to ten years’ experience in a management position in manufacturing environment.
Physical Demands: The employee is required to:
- stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
- exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
Working Conditions: Normally works in an office environment, but may also be subject to:
- High noise levels from operating machines
- physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts
- breathing fumes, dust and mist
- skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid.
